People are talking about our SlumberCity overnights! Since 2007, lots of happy campers have spent the night at City Museum. Here's what a few of them have had to say about it. "We spent the night at the City Museum's family sleepover - What a blast! So many other children's venues leave me on the sidelines, chatting with the other parents or reading a book and passing the time. At City Museum, I am pulling my kids into different places, instead of the other way around. I was very impressed with the staff, as well. They seem to have the right mix of keeping order and providing help and direction without imposing themselves in a way that makes you feel unwelcome." "Being there over night gave us an intimate sense of the place that you might not get in the frenetic pace of the crowds during the day. We will be back!" The cost is $40.00 per person, child or adult. Program includes: * Pizza dinner buffet and a breakfast buffet * All-night access to City Museum, including MonstroCity, Enchanted Caves, Art City, and more! * Activities throughout the evening * A commemorative "SlumberCity" badge you can't get anyplace else! * Free parking Upcoming Dates: 01/14/2018 - Girl Scout Overnight 02/18/2018 - Family Overnight (Scouting groups are also welcome) Overnight dates for Summer 2018 will be announced March 1st, 2018. Overnight dates for Winter 2019 will be announced August 1st, 2018. REGISTRATION POLICIES When registering there is a non-refundable registration fee of $10.00 per person (child or adult). The fee will be processed when we make your reservation and is not refundable for any reason. The troop will pay the balance of $30.00 per person on the night of the event. If numbers drop, the $10.00 per person registration fee will still not be refunded. Registrations will be accepted by mail or phone until the registration deadline OR until the event has sold out. You may call 314-231-2489 ext. 601 to check availability, however as registration may arrive daily availability may quickly change, so register early. To reserve, please call our group office. The entire troop/group must register as a group, with one registration form and registration payment. Individual registrations/multiple forms of payment will not be accepted and the packets will be mailed back. For more information or to register for an event, please call: (314) 231-CITY (2489) ext. 601 or e-mail our Groups Coordinator at monica@citymuseum.org. Chores made easy.... That's a great idea!! Kids want to be responsible; they want to have a purpose and independence, but somehow us parents made it ok for them to forget those very same values we were raised with. If there were a way to create a craving in children to do their chores, wouldn't you want to experience that for yourself? It's like a snowball that starts out as an awkward shy kid that gets nudged down the mountain. One cycle at a time getting bigger, stronger, and gaining momentum to make smart choices, and take care of themselves because they've learned just how great that feels, for themselves. We're not saying our apps are magic, but from day one the goal has been the same. Help families work together. Help kids find energy in being responsible and taking control in productive ways. They need it... The world is really complicated these days but there's nothing more precious than raising kids and having a young family. I know I personally miss those days. Kids are growing up in a time and space that we have yet to truly understand but one thing is certain, technology has a grip on every generation these days so we should learn to embrace, and how best to use it. Download the app for free. Give it a try and if you don't love it just let us know why and we'll fix it. (less) ... Read more
